In a world where childbirth is meant to mark the beginning of a new life, for some women it becomes the beginning of a life marked by pain, isolation and stigma.

*SCARS* follows the lives of women living with the devastating consequences of obstetric fistula, a childbirth injury that can leave them incontinent, physically traumatised and socially abandoned. Behind the condition are stories shaped by early marriage, limited access to maternal healthcare, poverty, harmful beliefs and circumstances far beyond the women's control.

Through intimate human experiences and the voices of those working to change the reality, the film looks beyond the medical condition to examine the systems and beliefs that allow these women to be forgotten.

Yet *SCARS* is not simply a film about suffering. It is a story of survival, dignity and possibility, following women who refuse to let their injuries define the rest of their lives.

The film asks a simple but profound question: **what happens when the people society has forgotten begin to reclaim their voices?**
